Today is this week’s Thankful Thursday! We have gotten the opportunity to work with so many creative and inspiring people, and today we are thanking someone who is definitely those two things…and much, much more! Today we are thanking one of our quilt designers, Vanessa Fromm of Fabric Confetti.

Vanessa Fromm was an avid sewer from the beginning! As a child, she shared her love for sewing with her grandmother, started to make her own clothing in junior high & high school, and even sewed her own prom dress! How amazing!! After finishing her higher education (by getting a BFA degree in medical illustration and an MBA), she began her career as a middle school English teacher. But even so, her love for sewing remained and Vanessa started getting into quilting again, and eventually machine appliqué. She started Fabric Confetti™, a business dedicated to quilt patterns, fabric appliqué designs, and yes of course – fabric confetti!

We had the privilege of partnering with Vanessa to create an exclusive quilt design for us! Vanessa created a stunning and modern Chevron Quilt for us with our What’s Cookin’ by Allison Cole Collection. The Chevron Quilt is free to download on our website, and can be found here! :)

Vanessa has such a clean and fresh design esthetic that we adore, and fits perfectly with us at Camelot Fabrics. Thank you so much, Vanessa, for creating a wonderful quilt design for us. Happy Wednesday!! We hope everyone is having a fantastic day so far! Today is actually National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day! We could definitely go for a classic PB&J sandwich and a glass of cold milk right now. Yummy!! :)

Happy Tuesday! It is also the first of April today!! And April Fools Day! Did anyone try pulling a prank on someone else or got a prank pulled on them? :) We love a brilliant joke or prank here in the office, as long as it’s all in good fun! Happy pranking! :)

We are starting off April with this week’s How To’s Day. Today we are going to share with you another one of our quilt designs – Our Flying High Quilt by Swirly Girls Design for Camelot Fabrics. This quilt design is playful and modernistic, with the triangles creating an awesome “flying high” pattern (almost like geese!) that works wonderfully with our Take Flight Collection. The tiered triangles also give this otherwise simple and clean design more of a bold statement!

This quilt design would look fantastic with any collection, and is perfect as a kid’s quilt or for snuggling with on the couch, but we especially adore it with our Take Flight Collection. You can get the PDF version of this tutorial on our website, in the our Free Projects Program section, but today we are going to share the tutorial with you on the blog. Happy Monday! We hope everyone had a restful weekend. It is officially the last day of March! We are thrilled for the upcoming warmer days without layers, the patches of green grass starting to peak through, and the little creatures coming out of hibernation. Easter is also coming up, and we are super excited to start working on all our pastel-infused, springtime projects!

It’s time for this week’s Moody Monday! Today we are inspiring you with our Pepsi by the Camelot Design Studio Collection. Imagine sitting by the pool in a large wide-brimmed hat and favorite novel, soaking up the sun’s warm rays…listening to the giddy children playing and the cool water splashing all around you. Starting to feel a little sticky from the sun, you reach into your fully stocked cooler and open up a refreshing can of…that’s right, Pepsi. There is honestly nothing quite like it. Can you tell we are just a little bit excited for warmer weather? :)

Yup, that’s right! Your iconic blue and red drink is now in fabric form! We have taken your favorite drink print and put a modern, vintage twist to it! Keeping the red and blue hues prominent, but adding a fun and charming flair…our Pepsi fabric collection is perfect for all the Pepsi enthusiasts who also love to sew and craft. Imagine a flirty, Pepsi-printed skirt or a matching Pepsi-printed bowtie and pocket square? Very fresh and playful! :)

In 2012, Christian Cota had collaborated with Diet Pepsi to create a capsule collection of Diet Pepsi-inspired pieces throughout the decades. There were a total of five inspired pieces including an adorable shift dress, a couple of maxis, a fun pair of capris, and a classic blue and red pullover. All the pieces used classic Pepsi prints and were inspired by fashion elements through the years. The preview also included unlimited Diet Pepsi for the guests, Pepsi-inspired straws, and décor in the classic red and blue colors! It is such a fun and beautiful collection, and gives us lots of inspiration of what to create with our Pepsi fabric collection! Happy Wednesday! How has everyone’s week been going? March is National Craft Month, and as the end of the month is almost near, we are reflecting on all the fun projects we have created this month. In March we have shared four new free project tutorials (How to Sew a Button, Our Plus Sized Quilt, Tiny Adventures Dress, and Our Cascading Chevrons Pillow), as well as our exclusive, outsourced free quilt patterns. We also have a roundup of all our recent quilt patterns in a blog post here.

It’s time to announce our Beyond the Backyard FQ Bundle Giveaway winner! We wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who participated in our giveaway.
