Hi everyone!
Happy Friday! That’s right…it’s Friday!! Remember when we said that we were excited that the weather was getting nicer yesterday? Well, we woke up to SNOW this morning. Madness. It’s the end of March, and we are still getting Winter weather! Let’s hope it all melts away before April comes! :)
It’s time for this week’s Fan Friday post! Today we are sharing with you a couple of adorable baby quilts sewn by Heather K. The two baby quilts use different color-ways from our Day at the Zoo Collection, one highlighting the rustic orange bark design and the other mixing greens & blues. The craftsmanship of the quilts is stunning, and the choice in quilt patterns are so lovely! It goes perfectly with the collection. Our Day at the Zoo Collection features charming lions, owls, hippos, and other friendly critters with a mix of neutral colours that would be perfect for any baby- or kid-friendly project.
Heather made these two quilts for two cousins who each have baby boys. Noland was born in January and another cousin adopted an infant, Michael, last Fall. Heather is from a big Irish, Catholic family, and her and her cousins were all the first born daughters! She decided to make baby quilts for the newest little ones in the family – such a sweet gift! :)

We are big cat lovers here at Camelot Fabrics, so this photo just warms our hearts!! Heather’s kittie, Steve McQueen (umm, epic name by the way!), definitely approves of the quilts, shown here helping Heather with the binding:

We absolutely adore how soft and lovable these baby quilts are, with our Day at the Zoo collection…Heather did an incredible job!! You can check out Heather’s blog for more, and she is also on Twitter and Instagram! Thank you so much for sharing the quilts with us, Heather!! Have a great weekend :)

March
Hi everyone,
Happy Thursday!! We cannot believe that we are nearing the end of March already. But, with the weather also starting to get warmer here, we hope this means that signs of Spring are near! We have been super inspired by all the bright colors and fun prints we have been on Pinterest, in stores, and in magazines!
BurdaStyle‘s Spring 2014 Issue is filled with lots of style inspiration to get you ready for the warmer weather! Along with endless Spring fashion tips and tricks throughout the magazine, the BurdaStyle magazine also includes full-sized fashion sewing pattern inserts for on-trend clothing pieces that you can create, to your taste. We especially adore the fabric 101 section in the magazine that focuses on everything you need to know about fabric, from selection to care and so much more!

Another great feature in the magazine is the Fabric Trends section, showcasing trends for the current season. Our Iconic Collection is perfect for the warmer weather, as the coral and navy hues in classic prints are very nautical and mod/60s-inspired – two huge trends for this season!
We love the combination of navy and coral – very refreshing, vibrant, and happy…which is just what Spring is to us! You can check out our Iconic Collection here for all the designs. We also have a couple of free projects featuring our Iconic Collection – Our Necktie and Conversation Hearts & Banner tutorials.

We also adored seeing popups of our fabric collections, such as Sweet Pea in the background of Denise’s editor’s note and this lovely floral pattern from Baby Dino! We collaborated with BurdaStyle by sending them our fabric collections, and it’s been super fun spotting our designs in their magazine, tutorials, and in the background of their webinairs!

Be sure to check out BurdaStyle’s Spring issue – there’s a ton of sewing & fashion ideas in it; you definitely will not be disappointed! You can also check out their website for even more inspiration to get your creative juices flowing for spring. Thanks for reading this week’s Thankful Thursday – Have a good rest of the day!

Have you entered our Beyond the Backyard FQB Giveaway? The giveaway ends this Wednesday so enter here if you haven’t yet! :)
With Spring officially here, it will only be a matter of time until pretty flowers and little creatures will start to immerge from hibernation. We are super excited for all the lovely colors to come that will add liveliness to our current dreary state. With that, we are inspiring you with a very girly and captivating collection today…our Petite Plume Collection by Andrea Turk for Cinnamon Joe. Bursting with fruitful colors of chartreuse, coral, and turquoise, Petite Plume reminds us of a perfect Spring day on a tropical vacation.
Imagine fresh citrus fruits, luscious greenery, and glistening clear waters…we definitely would love a vacation of the sorts. Petite Plume’s designs encompasses that mood with its floral prints, feathers, and peacocks! This collection would be perfect for a couple of summer dresses or tote bag to bring on your next beach vacation, or to dress up a darling kid’s room complete with peacock feathers and floral wall decals. You can check out the full collection here!

One fashion collection that reminds us of the opulent colors and prints of Petite Plume is the Marchesa Spring 2013 RTW Collection. This collection has a very rich and exotic feel to it, with the touches of sparkle and gold with the warm tone of turquoise, chartreuse, ruby, and violet. This whole collection is very majestic and elegant, and gives off the same feel as Petite Plume especially in color palette. Some of our favorites includes this stunning turquoise dress as well as this one and this one. There are just too many stunning outfits though, so you can see the full collection here!
We hope that we have inspired you with today’s Moody Monday! Be sure to enter our Facebook Giveaway to win a Beyond the Backyard FQB :) Have a wonderful day!
