Hi everyone!

We have been working with some incredible quilt pattern designers to create exclusive and free fantastic quilt designs for our Free Projects Program. It has been such a wonderful experience being able to partner with such creative minds who have created quilt designs that perfectly encapsulate our fabric collections. Our fabric collections have a modern, fresh, and vibrant feel to them and all of our exclusive modern quilt designs showcase that.

We have so many fantastic free quilt designs on our website currently, but we have decided to post a roundup of our current quilt designs on our blog each month. This way, you can see all the new wonderful quilt designs and talent we are currently working with. You can check out all of our current designs, as well as free projects, here. Happy Friday everyone!! We hope you are all having a great day. Today is March 14th…or 3.14! Physicist Larry Shaw took a look at the calendar, noticed the correlation between the day and π (3.1415…), and made the day official! The day has now been celebrated for 26 years…because I mean, who wouldn’t want a reason to celebrate and eat piE too! So, kick back and relax (it’s just about the weekend!), enjoy a piece of pie, and Happy Pi Day! :)

To end our week, we have our weekly Fan Friday for you all. Today we are sharing with you a project using our Gray Matters by Jackie McFee Collection. Nancy, from Cache Creek Quilts, absolutely loves all things quilt-related. Nancy began her love for the craft of quilting when her sons left home, and though she started sewing at a young age, got her passion for quilting from a friend and never turned back!

Nancy also has a blog where she shares her quilting projects and stories, as well as an Etsy shop to display her new creations. Along with quilting, Nancy does enjoy sewing other projects too, such as her potholders. She uses pretty floral and nature-inspired fabrics for her potholders, which can add a feminine flair to any kitchen display. Nancy loves our Gray Matters by Jackie McFee Collection and used our fabric for some potholders that she made. With Gray Matters, the potholders are fun and would make any kitchen décor more lively and bright!

Happy Thursday! We hope everyone is having a terrific day so far. We woke up today to a Winter Wonderland this morning…yup, lots and lots more snow and cold. It looks like Spring isn’t upon us any time soon. We love our Winters, but we are ready for blooming flowers and green grass! We hope everyone is having a better weather day than us!

It’s time for this week’s Thankful Thursday, and today we are sharing a very talented and special quilt designer…Christa Watson! Christa began her love for quilting in 1994, and never turned back! From there, her love for the hobby translated into teaching quilting, and eventually, a full-time business. Christa now teaches quilting, creates stunning quilt patterns, sells fabric and supplies at ChristaQuilts.com, and runs a quilting blog. Christa’s creativity for quilt designs goes both ways with traditional and more modern esthetics, providing a fantastic range in many different quilt patterns!

Christa’s talent has been published in Quilty Magazine, as well as being the featured cover quilt for the November/December 2013 edition, and works with many fantastic companies and partnerships. Christa is even one of the Modern Quilt Guild’s recent contest’s finalists, with her quilt design Modern X, as the March 2014 member spotlight. Christa’s intuitive eye for color and design is definitely spot-on! Congratulations, Christa!

We have the privilege of partnering with Christa as one of our quilt designers. Christa created a wonderful and modern quilt design for us using our Gray Matters More by Jackie McFee fabric collection. The quilt design is called the Herringbone Quilt, and perfectly highlights the different gray and yellow designs perfectly. The quilt is absolutely amazing – it seriously is a piece of art. Christa will also be sewing up this quilt for us. We will be featuring it at Spring Quilt Market this year in Pittsburgh, and we are very excited about that! It’s going to be a real stunner in person!!

Happy Tuesday everyone! We hope you are having a terrific day so far. We are getting excited for Saint Patrick’s Day next week, lots of crafty and green ideas stirring in the office :)

Today we’ve got a new project to share with you; it’s time for this week’s How To’s Day! We have been sharing lots of incredible quilts from our quilt designers on our website. All the quilts are beautiful, featuring our fabric collections perfectly, and they are free projects (including detailed instructions, diagrams, and patterns!). Be sure to check out all of our recent quilt designs!

This week’s How To’s Day is sharing with you a tutorial on a simple, but modern quilt design! This tutorial is such a great one for the beginner quilters because there aren’t too many pieces, the instructions are clear & concise, and the end result is a stunning quilt to call your own! :)

We used our Paisley Please by Jackie McFee Collection for this quilt, which makes it very fresh, vibrant, and pretty. This would be the perfect quilt for snuggling up with a book on those cooler nights, to use as an esthetic piece to vamp up a room, or even as wall décor!

As well, one of our biggest projects as of late has been our Free Projects section on our website and blog! Since the launch of our Camelot Fabrics blog back in September 2013, we have been posting a new free project every week! From adorable baby shoes to DIY chalkboard banners to plush stegosauruses…we’ve crafted a multitude of amazing projects for you all, with free instructions, diagrams, and patterns. One of the greatest things has been the positive feedback and the pictures sent to us of our projects, from you all! So thank you, keep sending them to us! :)

Along with our free projects, we have been partnering with some very talented quilt designers to create one-of-a-kind quilt patterns for our website. Our fabric collections have a fresh and modern twist to them, and all the quilt designs reflect our style perfectly. All the free quilt designs include the instructions, diagrams, and necessary skus in PDF format which you can check out here. We wanted to thank all our wonderful quilt designers for creating some incredible quilt designs for us! You guys rock!! :)

Today we are featuring one of our quilt designs for this week’s How To’s Day. Larene Smith, from The Quilted Button, designed this sweet baby quilt called Diamond Sparkle. You can use any fabric of your choice, but we think this quilt looks especially darling with our Dream a Little Dream Collection by Heather Rosas. Today we thought we’d provide a step-by-step on how to create your very own Diamond Sparkle Quilt – the perfect blanket for all the little ones you know!
