Hi everyone,

Happy Thursday!! It’s been rainy and gloomy today, so we are playing some rain-inspired (but empowering!) songs in the office to lift our spirits. We are also excited about this week’s Winsday because we are giving away an Imaginarium FQ bundle on our Facebook Page. Be sure to head on over there to enter if you haven’t yet! :)

Time for this week’s Thankful Thursday, featuring an amazing, geek chic fashion and style blog… Set to Stunning!! Set to Stunning is run by cosplay friends Lindz and Scruffy who decided to create a blog in 2012 devoted to geek girl fashion, geek chic products and accessories, DIY projects (DIY Fridays), event interviews, and so much more! They both have a passion for all things Star Wars, Batman, cosplay, and cats that they now share on their ever-growing blog! Both girls were not fashionable types growing up, but found a love for it with being able to express their fandoms in geek chic style. As well, you’ll find them at all the major “con” events, such as San Diego Comic Con, WonderCon, and Comikaze. Their motto is “geek chic style for your alter ego” which definitely sums up the awesomeness that is their blog!

Up with all the latest trends in geek chic style, they’re always sharing new products and cool finds on their blog. In one of their latest “Picks of the Week“, they featured some of our licensed fabrics as a round-up to fabrics that would be perfect for DIY creations. So cool! They especially love our DC Comics Collection, Superman Collection, Star Wars Collection, and our latest Girl Power II Collection. As well, they’ve used our collections in their past DIYs!

16 October

Hi everyone,

Happy Tuesday!! We hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Today is definitely the perfect day for a pumpkin spice latte and cuddling up in a thick, warm quilt. Whether we want it to come or not, Fall will be upon us in officially one week.

We have been excitedly getting prepared for Fall Quilt Market with our projects and other goodies, and can’t wait to share them with you all. For this week’s How To’s Day, we wanted to share with you one of our past, in-house free projects that so many of you enjoyed. Our Simple Stripes Baby Blanket is an easy patchwork blanket, that mimics the look of a quilt (without the need for advanced quilting skills). It’s adorable, cozy, and the perfect size to wrap your little nugget in. We had previously shared our tutorial on our blog with our Playground by Vita Mechachonis collection, with the subdued blue and tan hues making our baby blanket soothing and comforting.

We decided to create a fun version of our baby blanket with our Girl Power II collection – the bright colors make this blanket POP! As well, our Girl Power II collection makes it awesome for any little superheroine-in-training with the Wonder Woman, Batgirl, and Supergirl designs decorating the blanket. We love the idea of your little superheroine snuggled up in her favorite blanket, dreaming to her heart’s content on all the *super* things she wants to do, whether it be playing all day in the yard or having a tea party with all her favorite companions. And we know, all our Girl Power fellow enthusiasts will be loving this blanket just as much (if not, more!) than she does…

As mentioned, we had featured our Simple Stripes Baby Blanket as a DIY project on the blog, which you can find here. As well, we have a PDF version on our website that can be easily printed out for you to create. You can find it here, as well as our Free Projects Program.

We really hope you love our Simple Stripes Baby Blanket as much as we do! We’d love to know your thoughts. And if you get the chance to make your own version, we’d love to see. You can always send your project pictures to us at info@camelotfabrics.com or tag us on Instagram. Have a fantastic day, everyone!

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday everyone!! TGIF!! We hope everyone is having a fantastic end of the week; will anyone be working on any fun projects this weekend? If you need any inspiration, feel free to browse our DIYs…we’re sure you will find some inspiration and something you like :)

For today’s Fan Friday we are featuring a wonderful Etsy Shop, Not Without Annette, run by the lovely Annette. By day, Annette works for a large utility company in the IT department, but one of her passions lies in fabric and sewing. Annette has been crafting for almost all her life – she learned to crochet at the age of 8 by watching her babysitter. She also enjoys knitting, needlepoint, counted cross-stitch, and apparel sewing, but her true calling is quilting. She is a self-taught quilter, watching and following Fons & Porter, Eleanor Burns, and Alex Anderson as inspirations.

Her Etsy Shop started from those around her telling her “Oh, you should sell those!” in regards to her handmade gifts over the years. Annette now sells really fun and unique, all-handmade and mostly “Made in America” items such as her Cupcake Purse, Crayon Tote, Book Bags, and Tissue Cozies. She is a devoted animal lover, with 100% of the proceeds from her tissue cozies are donated to various animal charities in the US (DASH, the local animal shelter, HALO, the Blind Cat Sanctuary, and others). As of 6/15/2014, over $1,350 has gone to these organizations. Annette loves whimsical and cartoon fabric prints, and loves Camelot Fabrics! She has chosen our Girl Power Collection for her Crayon Tote, our Star Trek Collection for one of her Tissue Cozies, amongst some other of our fabric collections!

Hi everyone,

Happy Monday! We hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It’s not the best of days here today, dreary and a forecast for rain, but we are feeling great after our Summer 2014 Collections Launch Week. If you have not seen all five new collections yet, be sure to check them out here! We also have coordinating free projects for you all, which we are sure you will love. We are also hosting our Licensed Fabrics Giveaway on our Facebook this week, so be sure to enter if you haven’t yet. The giveaway winner will be announced this Wednesday!

It’s time to start off the week with our Moody Monday! We are featuring one of our empowering collections this week, our Girl Power II by Camelot Design Studio Collection. Our Girl Power II Collection features all of your favorite strong, independent, and gorgeous superheroines – Wonder Woman, Batgirl, and Supergirl. This collection is all about showcasing strength, determination, and drive…which is showcased brilliantly in this fun and vivaciously-colored collection. The red, blue, and turquoise hues are exciting and bold – characteristics of our favorite superheroines – and the designs capture these gals in action, together and in their dedicated skus. This one is for your own, little superheroines – we love the idea of a Girl Power circle skirt, or an empowering quilt.

Roksanda’s Resort 2015 Collection encapsulates a very comic-book inspired feel that perfectly fits with our Girl Power theme today. Roksanda’s Collection is bold and exciting in color, combinations, and print. We absolutely adore the use of bright colors together, and especially the splattered designs – SO fun and beautiful!! This collection gives off a very strong and powerful feel, and goes very well with our Girl Power Collection. We especially love this one and this one, but you can check out the full collection here.

28 July

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday!! We hope everyone is having a really great day! We started a new feature on the blog this week called What We Love – a post dedicated to all things that the Camelot Design Studio is loving at the moment! We really hope you enjoyed the first post; we are super excited for the next! :)

To end another lovely week, we have our Fan Friday to share. Today we are featuring an Etsy Shop, The Bib Boutique, with a very fun and modern feel. This handmade shop is dedicated to handmade bibs, turbans, baby teething pads, and other baby necessities, in cute prints. Irene, owner of The Bib Boutique, also creates beautiful headbands and turbans for adults in modern geometric and patterned fabrics!

Irene shared with us her Wonder Woman bib using our DC Comics Originals Collection, and we just had to share! She also created baby teething pads with Wonder Woman, and we just love it. We love creative patterns for babies, and our Wonder Woman print fits the bill (or, bib we should say hehe). Every future superheroine needs her very own girl power bib, of course, so that she can be protected and ready for what’s ahead! :)
