Hi everyone,

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a wonderful week. SO ready for the weekend! Who’s with me? We’re also giving away a Sea Life FQB on our Facebook Page this week, so be sure to enter!

It’s time to end this week with our Fan Friday! Today we are featuring a super sweet baby quilt by Calamari Quilts, featuring our Folklore by Heather Rosas Collection. Calamari Quilts is an Etsy Shop dedicated to beautiful, handmade quilts. Mother-daughter, sewing duo Mary and Michelle are the creatives behind Calamari Quilts, both with a love for quilting, sewing, and creating high quality items. Inspired by the scenic views around her home and studio, Michelle creates quilts based on the beauty she sees everyday. When her daughter was born, she was given thirteen handmade blankets, and wants to pass along the special-ness she felt to other new mommies.

Calamari Quilts created an adorable baby girl’s quilt called “Wren’s Pals” with our Folklore Collection. We absolutely adore the brightness of the red, contrasted with the different grays in the striped quilt. Folklore is a very feminine and pretty collection of birdies and flowers, so it was the perfect choice for this little girl’s quilt. It would brighten up any nursery, and the extra touch on the binding is fabulous! Such a stunning quilt!

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday!! We hope everyone is having a wonderful end of the workweek. We have been launching our Fall 2014 Collections today on our website and blog, as well as our social media sites, so be sure to check them. We’d love to know what you think, and which ones are your favorite!! We definitely couldn’t choose just one! We’re also in Houston for Fall Quilt Market, so if you’ll be there too, be sure to stop by Booth #1824 to say “hello!”

It’s time to end a great week with our Fan Friday! Today we are featuring a wonderful online shop who makes the sweetest of quilts, Now and Then Quilts. Dana is the owner of and creative behind Now and Then Quilts, an Etsy Shop that was launched as a way to share her love for quilting. Dana enjoys the whole process of quilting, from choosing the fabric to seeing the quilt “come to life”, which makes each quilt all the more special. Dana is a loving wife, mother to four, and a grandmother to three…all whom she loves to sew and quilt for. Now and Then Quilts is all about beautiful quilt designs, from adorable but modern baby quilts to Christmas stockings and other fun accessories. All items are made with love, the perfect addition to any little ones’ nursery. She has quilts for girls and boys in a variety of colors, sizes, and fabric designs to appeal to everyone.

Dana created a beautiful baby quilt with our What a Gem by Allison Cole Collection. This Modern Baby Girl Quilt is absolutely stunning, the different patterns from What a Gem in a block patchwork design. This modern, whimsical quilt is perfect for a baby girl who is as fierce as she is chic! As Dana says “because every now and then you just need that special quilt“, and we think her What a Gem quilt truly is special.

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday!! We hope everyone is having a wonderful end to the work week. It’s Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend, so we are so excited to spend time with our loved ones, have some great laughs, and of course, eat lots and lots of delicious food. We are thankful for so many things in our lives, it would be an endless post, so we keep it short and sweet. We want to take the time to thank our wonderful family, friends, and supporters…and of course all of you; we appreciate all of our fellow fabric enthusiasts so much. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by the Camelot Fabrics blog to say hello; it really means so much to us! :)

And speaking of fabric enthusiasts, it’s time for this week’s Fan Friday! Today we are featuring Rocking Horse Design, an online shop dedicated to making handmade Lolita-style dresses and skirts in bright and fun comic & cartoon fabric designs. As well, they create customized cosplay garments which can be tailored and suited for different needs. With a love affair for cartoons and comics, it is no doubt that they would also translate that love in their fabric choices. They love Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel, Adventure Time, and other popular comics…and choose fabric collections that represent who they are, with a modern twist.

Rocking Horse Design loves the Lolita-style of clothing, which is translated in all their designs, with a vintage flair. Their dresses have sweetheart necklines and their skirts are full, girly, and flirty. Using cartoon and comic prints, the dresses look absolutely adorable and so much fun to wear! Who wouldn’t want to look fabulous, rocking their favorite comic book or cartoon? They love our Marvel, Star Trek, and Star Wars fabric collections and chose some of our prints for their dresses. We absolutely LOVE how they turned out!

10 October

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday!! TGIF!! We hope everyone had a wonderful first week of October. If you haven’t entered our Felt Giveaway on our Facebook Page, be sure to head on over now. We are giving away 11 assorted sheets of our hard felt, and we are so excited for whoever wins this one. You can find lots of felt projects inspiration on our Pinterest.

It’s time to end another great with our Fan Friday!! Today we are featuring some wonderful projects featuring our What a Gem Collection, from Julie of Mackenzie Monroe. Mackenzie Monroe started from the need for a creative outlet. Interior designer by day, sewing enthusiast by night, Julie decided to channel her love for sewing in a fun way. She found a passion for sewing and fabrics in her seventh grade home economics class, a love that only sparked further in college and adulthood. Julie started Mackenzie Monroe in 2011, where she sells her beautiful creations – bags, totes, doggie accessories, and much more can be found at her shop. Julie also attends local craft markets where she also sells her lovely creations.

Julie loves fun and whimsical fabrics, and has chosen our What a Gem for some of her tote bags. They look so lovely, we just had to share them with you all!! She used our What a Gem by Allison Cole Collection for the main print, choosing to highlight the prettiness of the designs against a canvas accent fabric. We think they look oh-so pretty, and would be beautiful everyday bags to carry your essentials…

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday!! YAY for the weekend; wishing everyone a fantastic one! As well, we are hosting a Paisley Please + Coordinating Aurifil Threads Giveaway on our Facebook Page. You can enter our giveaway HERE!

It’s time for this week’s Fan Friday! And we’ve got one that is perfect to end this week and kick-start the weekend. Today we are featuring a really beautiful Etsy Shop, Sew Liab. Martina Croom, owner and creative behind Sew Liab, is a military mom currently stationed in Northern France and a sewing enthusiast. It was teachers, family, and her husband who encouraged her to start a shop to sell her creations, and thus her Etsy Shop was born.

The name Sew Liab has two origins: Sew is to represent what she loves to do, and Liab; a Austrian vernacular for cute, sweet and precious to express what she sells. The name fits perfectly for her shop, because Martina sells the sweetest of handmade clothing (dresses, tunics, etc), quilts, baby items, toys, bags, and more! As well, Martina has a keen eye for adorable, but modern fabric collections to use, to make all her designs bright, happy, and fun.

Martina chose our Let’s Go by Andrea Turk for Cinnamon Joe Studio Collection for her lovely Pencil Pouches. The structure is perfect for storing all your coloring tools, but can also be used as a makeup bag, sewing supplies carrier, or bag separator. The fox designs add an adorable flair to this pencil pouch, that everyone will be asking where you got it from! We adore the sweet foxes, raccoons, and flora patterns decorating the happy pouches from Let’s Go. And what makes Martina super awesome is the customization factor of her shop – you can also request a larger size of this pouch, as a toiletry bag or diaper clutch! Check out her awesome Let’s Go Pencil Pouch here.
