Hi everyone!

Happy Monday! We hope everyone had a lovely weekend. There are 9 days till Christmas!! We’re excited to try out some new cookie recipes, make pretty snowflake garlands, and play in the bountifulness of snow that we’ve accumulated this past weekend. What are you most excited for? “Christmas snow can never disappear completely. It sometimes goes away for almost a year at a time and takes the form of spring and summer rain.  But you can bet your boots that when a good, jolly December wind kisses it, it will turn into Christmas snow all over again.”  – Santa Claus in Frosty the Snowman

It’s time for another Moody Monday! Today we are sharing with you our Penelope by the Camelot Design Studio moodboard. Penelope is a very pretty and feminine collection of floral, chevron, bauble, and cross prints in beautiful pastel blends. The array of muted aqua, coral, grey, and yellow make the designs soft and ethereal, and the perfect backdrop for elegant dresses, accessories, and home decor pieces. Feminine and sweet, this sorbet-infused collection is perfect for any fashionista!

In the same color scheme, Erdem’s Spring 2013 RTW collection was brightly infused with pastel colors, ladylike silhouettes, and soft prints. I especially adore the juxtaposition of tough and soft with the mix of lace, snakeskin print, cutouts, mesh, and floral appliques. Such a beautiful collection, and so reminiscent of our Penelope collection! So hard to choose but click here, here, and here for my favorites, and here for the rest of the collection!

We hope you were inspired by today’s Moody Monday post! We’ve also got a Freddie’s Friends and fabric giveaway running on our blog. Tell us your favorite DIY project from us, and you could be our winner. Enter here! Have a wonderful rest of the day.

11 December

Hi everyone!

Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone is having an amazing day so far. There are 15 more days till Christmas and there is still so much to do (eek!). As much as I adore the holidays, I always tend to plan to do too much (Pinterest…I’m looking at you!) and as a result, some things may be put to the last minute. DIY projects are perfect for those meaningful, yet fun and simple gifts to give to all your loved ones. We’ve got lots of free projects on our website and blog that you can use this holiday season; be sure to have a look around our sites for your favorites! We’ve got a stunning DIY project for you today, one that would be perfect for that friend who is always on trend. “If you really love Christmas, come on and let it snow.” – Billy Hack, Love Actually

Today’s free project is our Beaded Clutch Tutorial, using our Mint to Be collection. We also created this clutch in a couple of other collections, including our Penelope Collection! A clutch is a wardrobe essential; it can be used as a bag divider for all your loose products and then interchanged for nighttime. The style of this clutch is beautiful and elegant, especially with the scalloped edges and added beads for that extra touch of glam. If you’re thinking of making this clutch for a friend this Christmas, we definitely suggest getting some extra fabric…we’re pretty sure you’ll want to make one for yourself too. Let’s get sewing!

Hi everyone!

Happy Monday! We hope everyone has had a fantastic weekend. Today is the epitome of a Winter Wonderland here; soft and fluffy pure white snow – so pretty to look (from indoors at least…it’s a bit chilly!). It’s definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Be sure to check out all our past DIY projects for some amazing gift ideas, as well as the following How To’s Days. We’ve got some crafty and fun ideas ahead for you!

“Oh, Christmas isn’t just a day, it’s a frame of mind… and that’s what’s been changing. That’s why I’m glad I’m here, maybe I can do something about it” – Kris Kringle, Miracle on 34th Street.

It’s also time for another Holiday question! Today’s question is: Tell us about your favorite Christmas gift. Please let us know in the comments below!

I’d say mine would be a doll I had seen at a local, artisan show. I was around 8 or 9 and was starting to “question” the existence of Santa Clause. I only told my parents that I loved the doll when we had left, and thought to myself that if Santa Clause was truly real I would receive the doll for Christmas. Come Christmas morning, my sister and I ran down the stairs to see Santa’s signature wrapping paper and note, and giddily started to open presents when my parents awoke. I will always remember the exact feeling unwrapping one particular gift; a mix of amazement, shock, and complete bliss. I had received the doll from the artisan fair, and in that moment knew I should never of doubted Santa. Even though I am older now, that memory will always remind me of the true magic of Christmas. Let’s read our Design Studio team’s stories:

Marion: My favorite Christmas gift was given to me by my sister-in-law. It is a second or third-hand complete works of Shakespeare. It is a massive, dog-eared, tiny-printed book. She wasn’t sure if I would like it because some people may get offended by secondhand gifts, but that’s what made it all the more awesome – because it has history.

Valeria: There really is not much of a story behind the gift, aside from it being completely amazing: The Hawaiian Barbie and Tropical Hut!

Juan: A handmade, wooden bus that I received when I was a little boy. It is my favorite because I know the guy who made it and I would tell him that I wanted one of my own. On that Christmas morning, I was so excited when I saw my very own wooden bus under the tree!

Shannen: My Grandmother loved to knit & when she passed away, my dad received 5 homemade knitted afghans. When I was young, they were my favorite blankets to cuddle up with. Last year, my dad me one of these afghans to pass onto the next generation. It was a (happy) emotional moment with my family that I will never forget.

Time for this week’s Moody Monday! Today we are sharing with you our Dream a Little Dream by Heather Rosas moodboard. Dream a Little Dream is a charming and sweet collection of little forest animals and night-themed wonders. With it’s soft and muted pastel color palette, it  is another perfect collection for a baby’s nursery…boy or girl! The adorable moons and stars make for wonderful inspirations for kiddies to dream their little hearts out…no dream is too big or impossible to achieve.

dream

Dream a Little Dream is a mixture of pastel and darker hues, but yellows and blues are prominent amidst the collection. A fun kids collection is reminiscent of this color palette was one seen at the Vogue Bambini’s Miss Blumarine Jeans x ki6 NYC show. There was a full array of colors and textures at the show, but the navy and mustard outfits especially stood out to us and reminded us of the hues in Dream a Little Dream. The collection was overall very feminine and sweet; you can check out the full collection here.

Thank you for reading another Moody Monday! We hope it has inspired you for this upcoming, wonderful week. Have a great one!

Hi everyone!

Fall Quilt Market was a little whiles away, but we’ve still got the post-QM blues. We had an absolute blast at this year’s Quilt Market in Houston, and got to meet so many fantastic and creative people. Unpacking all our projects, chatting with new contacts, and scrolling through all our photos, we’ve been super inspired and cannot wait to share what’s to come from Camelot Fabrics! Our Quilt Market experience was definitely memorable, and we’re sharing them all with you today! :)

The Camelot Fabrics Booth! #booth1324

This was our stunning booth set-up at Quilt Market! We had all our designers’ collections as different panels with our creative and fun projects for each. As well, we featured some of our licensed fabrics (Star Trek, Star Wars, and Spider-Man), our new barware (more info coming soon!), introduced Jane Farnham (our newest designer), and our new lines. Our booth was vibrant and colorful, and showcased all our pretty fabrics perfectly.
