Hi everyone!

Happy Friday!! Great way to the end the week with a pretty day – a lovely change from the wind and rain we’ve been getting lately. There are also two more days until #StarWarsDay and in honor of May the 4th, we are hosting a Glow-in-the-Dark Star Wars fabric giveaway on our Facebook Page – Click here to enter!

To round up another wonderful week, we have our Fan Friday for you all today! Marion Omont used our Fleece Fox Hat & Tail Tutorial to create an absolutely adorable fleece fox hat and tail for her son. Marion’s son had a school carnival to attend and the kids were able to dress up! She remembered seeing our fox hat & tail tutorial on our Pinterest – a project she had wanted to make for a while but never got the chance to. She showed the costume idea to her son, who eagerly approved, and in a couple of hours his fox costume was created! Finishing the look with a cute nose and some whiskers, Marion’s son is one of the most precious foxes we have ever seen!

You can check out the full tutorial here, as well as a free printable on our website.

It’s time for some more “thank yous” with this week’s Thankful Thursday. Today we are going to share our wonderful feature in the Craft Ideas April 2014 Digital Magazine. Craft Ideas is an incredible source for all things craft- and DIY-related – from quilting to clay to beading, and everything in-between, they are a fantastic crafting hub for every sort of project you will want to try.

Craft Ideas publishes print magazines throughout the year, dedicated to the yearly trends and holidays, as well as digital editions! Moreover, they have a correlating Craft Ideas website and blog to share even more crafting tips and project tutorials with their readers! Hi everyone!

Happy Tuesday!! We hope everyone is having a lovely day. We are trying to embrace the milder weather, as we are supposed to be getting more rain in the next coming days. Sigh. We just want sunshine!! :)

In the meantime, we’ve got something else to brighten your day – it’s time for this week’s How To’s Day post! We’ve got a fantastic new tutorial to share with you all, our Easy Pillow Slip! We are all about simplicity and convenience here, so if we can make something…why not right? :) Bedcovers and sheets should be interchanged every couple of weeks, and there is honestly nothing better than the feeling of going to bed in fresh linens. However, buying extra bed wear can get pretty expensive, especially for something that can easily be made yourself, so we are going to share our tips & tricks with you today on just that!

Another awesome thing about bedcovers is that they are just that – covers for your bed! It’s the simplest way to change up a bedroom look; keep the rest of your bedroom décor neutral and add pops of color with your linens (ie. pillows, bed sheets, and curtains!). In a manner of minutes, you’ll have yourself a completely different looking room. It’s a great way to decorate on a budget (such as for a dorm room!), or for those who just like changing things up! Indulge in your inner interior decorator by mastering your very own pillow slips with our tutorial today.

Hi everyone!

Happy Monday everyone! How was everyone’s weekend? :) Can’t believe it’s already the last couple of days of April – We are super excited to be heading closer to warmer weather!! It’s still been pretty cool and rainy here, so we are hoping the “April showers brings May flowers” holds true this year (and therefore, we should we expecting LOTS of flowers blooming haha!).

It’s time for this week’s Moody Monday! Today we are inspiring you with our Star Trek Universe collection’s moodboard – this one is for all you trekkies! Our Star Trek Universe collection is a 13 SKU collection, immersed in the iconic blue, red, and yellow colors that vividly represent Star Trek. Divided up by color, just as in Star Trek, the different skus represent the members correlated with each ‘team’. As well, accompanying shields and space silhouettes designs coordinate with the colors too! We have got all your favorite characters from the Star Trek original series; trekkie fans – we’ve got you covered. So, are you team blue…team red…or team yellow? :)

Recently, there’s been a couple of fantastic, memorable interviews with legendary Star Trek cast members, including William Shatner and Patrick Stewart. Back in February, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen sat down for one of the most incredible interviews ever with Buzzfeed Brews. During their interview to publicize their Broadways No Man’s Land and Waiting for Godot, they managed to play The Newlywed Game together…and honestly, the whole interview is golden. I’m sure all the fellow trekkies have seen it already, but if not – go watch it right now! You definitely will not be disappointed.

Another recent interview is that of William Shatner. In the two-part interview, Shatner discusses everything from his later endeavors: Wacky Doodle, Shatner’s World (one night, one man show!), his latest book, and of course all things Star Trek related. The interview is will StarTrek.com, and you can read part one and part two here. Shatner is such a brilliant man, with many words of wisdom, and is an icon. And the fact that he Montreal born, like us, makes all the more awesome! ;)

We hope you have enjoyed this week’s Moody Monday! Stay tuned for some exciting things coming these next few weeks. There’s always something new happening at Camelot Fabrics! Until then…

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday! It’s time to round out the week with our Fan Friday post! Today we are sharing a very cute and sweet pattern shop, Create Kids Couture. Shannon and Tiffany are the two creative ladies behind Create Kids Couture, a fun pattern boutique that started in July 2011 with only 5 patterns. From there, the boutique quickly grew in popularity and have now expanded to over 300 patterns for babies, women, tweens, boys, dolls, and more! With Create Kids Couture, they strive to create patterns that are both easy to follow and pretty – ruffles and anything girly are a must!

Inspiration for their designs is often sparked from their daughters’ tastes and surroundings, but for their Ginger’s One Shoulder Dress, they were inspired by our In The Navy by Jackie McFee collection! So sweet so hear, and it seriously made our WEEK! The goal was to create a dress with the fabric collection that was summery and showcased a multitude of designs…and we definitely think they succeeded! The tiered design of this maxi dress is super lovely and we adore the bottom ruffled layer (we agree that one can never wear too many ruffles or color!). The pattern also comes with a top version, which is fantastic. This is the perfect cruise or garden party dress for a sweet, little girl!

She is absolutely adorable!! :) And the matching rose headband and necklace are perfect accessories!
