Continuing our Summer 2015 Collections Launch Week! Today we are sharing our Ethereal Collection by the Camelot Design Studio. Ethereal is a stunning collection inspired by our beloved floral favorites – peonies, dahlias, daisies, tulips – in feminine hues of blue, orchid, and taupe. Exquisite floral designs combine to create a very fluttery, ethereal feel – like frolicking through a meadow of delicate blooms! Keep things fresh with our Ethereal collection by making an airy, floral quilt and some coordinating tabbed curtains. Make a sweet skater skirt, and pair it with a chambray shirt and tote for a casual day at brunch.

It is also available in our double gauze, so we see a feminine purple and blue infinity scarf in your future! Gussy up your guest bedroom with an ethereal quilt, such as our Festival Quilt by Play Crafts. Soo lovely!

Hi everyone,

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. To all our Americans, hope you had an amazing 4th of July weekend! :)

Starting off our week with our Moody Monday! Today we are featuring our Skylanders Collection by the Camelot Design Studio. Skylanders is an interactive video game series that brings “toys to life”. Characters based on eight elemental categories – earth, magic, air, fire, water, life, teach, and undead – go through different adventures in the land of Skylands to defend their world from varying threats. The ultimate goal is protect the world of Skylands from “Kaos”, as the Skylanders want to maintain peace & balance in their world. Good over evil – very cool theme for a game, we think. Three additional series have since been introduced, as well as three new elements known as the Trap team (kaos, light, and dark). Our Skylanders Collection is a representation of the game that many gamers enjoy – from the beloved Skylanders characters to the bright blues & yellows, this is a really fun collection!

Diane Von Furstenberg’s Spring 2013 collection was elegant and classy, just as the designer herself. Splashes of blues and orange made this collection feel like summertime, like sipping on a orange julep by the water. There was a wonderful flow to every outfit, with lightweight fabrics of silk and chiffon to drape around the models. But of course, even with a summer-inspired collection, there was an effortless elegance and femininity to each piece. And of course, we can’t forget her infamous wrap dresses! We especially loved this jumpsuit, that was powerful and gorgeous, especially with the metallic belt. Another stunning collection from DVF!

We hope you have enjoyed today’s Moody Monday! We’d love to know what summer trends you are excited about. Any fun colours you’re excited to wear? Let us know. Have a relaxing rest of the day!

Hi everyone,

Happy Thursday! I hope you all are having a fabulous day. We are hosting a new giveaway this week – our The Kitten’s Meow Collection. Let us know what you would create with our adorable collection for a chance to win!

Time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring a gorgeous quilt pattern designed by Nicole Maroon of The Girl Who Quilts. The Diamonds Quilt is a lovely quilt pattern, featuring columns of octagon and diamond shapes. Each block features a different pattern, and the outline allows for a beautiful gradient effect of colors.

We love the idea of sticking to a synonymous color palette, such as the sea-inspired blue and green hues of our Zoey collection, so as to keep a harmonious look. We chose the grey SKUs from Zoey to create the bordered ombre effect; dark to light to dark again, and LOVE how it turned out. Nicole of The Girl Who Quilts designed this modern quilt pattern for us, and also quilted it for our Spring Quilt Market booth. It is such a pretty pattern digitally, but seeing it in person – it is a stunner!

02 July

Hi everyone,

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are doing great today. Unfortunately, it’s another rainy one for us. But… that won’t stop us from celebrating National Fudge Day. Oh yes, it’s a real thing and we’re very happy about that!

On to this week’s How To’s Day! Today we are featuring a fantastic pattern that will soon become your go-to shirt, the Granville Shirt pattern by Sewaholic Patterns. The Granville Shirt pattern is a femininely tailored, button-front shirt that is an essential to anyone’s closet! The shirt features long sleeves with plackets and cuffs, a two-piece collar, and back princess seams for a flattering silhouette!

Marion of the Made by Marion Blog decided to give this pattern a go, creating her own Granville Shirt. She chose our Darling Collection; the lace in midnight as the main print and the lace in zinc for the bias facing. The pattern was wonderful to work with, but she was able to customize a couple of things. She found that she could get away with using 2 yards for the main body (which may not work for all sizes, but noted for those who may have a print from their fabric stash they’d like to use, but may be short of the 2-3/4).

Additionally, Marion chose to do a bias-faced hem instead of the double-turned hem. This allowed for the fabric to lie flatter, and therefore created a smooth curved hem. She used 1/2 yard of fabric for the bias facing. She loved how clean the shirt lines were, even when the shirt was turned inside out. The result is a the perfect styling piece, that is custom to your silhouette!

If you’re interested in making your own shirt, we definitely recommend the Grainville Shirt pattern by Sewaholic Patterns. You can find more from Marion here, and more from Sewaholic Patterns here. And with that, have a fabulous day!

16 June

Hi everyone,

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are having a fantastic day. It’s the last day to enter our special, “Jackie McFee’s Website Got a Makeover” Giveaway…so head on over to her Instagram to win a Neon & On FQB!

Time for this week’s How To’s Day! Today we are sharing a beautiful crossbody tutorial: our Polygon Bag by Made by Marion. Our Polygon Bag is a clean, two-toned foldover design that features a long body strap, grommet details, and an interior zipper to hold your essentials. The straps can easily be removed, so it can also be used as a “night on the town” clutch. Its simple and lightweight design will make it your new, throw-on-and-go bag. We chose to use two mustard print from our Heirloom collection for the bag’s shell, which gave the Polygon bag a classic and rich feel!
