Hi everyone!

Happy Monday everyone! We hope you are all having a wonderful day. Welcome sweet treats, love notes, and heart-shaped {everything}….here’s to a fabulous February!! ♥

To start off this new month, and to begin the week, we’ve got another Moody Monday for you. A new month calls for new beginnings and fresh starts, inspiring us for today’s blog post. Today we are inspiring you with our Mint Condition by Jackie McFee moodboard. Mint Condition is a lovely mix of cool tones, the color leads being mint and grey.

This collection is soft, crisp, and serene…the perfect compliment to a house by the beach or lake (or one with a complementary theme…because alas, not everyone has the luxury of living by the water). The contiguous theme of mint and grey in this collection follows pretty designs of hexagons, dots, chevrons, and posies. This collection would make a stunning Spring dress, couch covers, or evening clutch – and everything else in between! You can check out the full collection here.

In keeping with the air of softness and prettiness, we’re very much inspired by Christopher Kane’s Spring 2014 RTW Collection today. Kane’s recent collection was an aura of black, lavender, and mint green however it was the mint green outfits that particularly stood out to us. The whole collection was very lady-like and feminine with the midi-length skirts, lace details, floral prints, and muted hues.

Even so, the fun cut-outs and sheer panels called for a more modern flair to the collection that we adored! The minty-hued outfits were very reminiscent of the elegant and classic vibe from our Mint Condition collection, very fresh and perfect for the upcoming Spring season. You can check out the full collection here! We hope you enjoyed today’s blog post and have been inspired. Until next time!

Hi everyone!

Happy Monday! How was everyone’s weekend? The weather here was pretty mild, but the snow started to come down last night and it is officially a blizzard out there. We definitely have had our share of a winter wonderland here now. Very cold, very windy, and very white! :) Oh – have you entered our Iconic Giveaway yet? Let us know what you think is the most iconic, hopeless romantic moment to enter!

To start off this week, we’ve got our Moody Monday for you all. Today we are sharing with your our Fairyville by Heather Rosas moodboard. We could use a little sprinkle of magic dust from the weather fairy!

Our Fairyville collection is absolutely adorable – a super sweet, frilly, and girly fabric collection full of magic and imagination. This collection features little fairies living in their tree and apple houses, amongst their animal friends. Oh, how darling right?

The colors are pastel and soft – a mix of delightful greens, pinks, and yellows – making the collection very pretty and airy. It would be the perfect collection for a girl-themed, whimsical room or for the loveliest dress for your fairy-in-training! Check out the full collection here. As well, check out our new Fat Quarter Bundles on our website, which includes our Fairyville collection! :)

One trend that will be especially big this coming Spring 2014 is anything whimsical, whether it be bold floral prints or fluttery tulle skirts, that we drew from inspiration for this week’s Moody Monday. A collection that we were gravitated towards was Mary Katrantzou’s Spring 2014 Collection. There was a beautiful mix of earthy & extravagant patterns and silhouettes from this collection, but we especially adored the splashes of floral color, ruffles, and contemporary silhouettes.

Each of the dresses gave a very ethereal and pretty feel, while still being modern in its fit and style. If a fairy were living here in modern times, these dresses would definitely be what she would wear. Yes, we believe!! You can check out all the fantastical dresses here. Thank you so much for reading today’s post, and we hope you have been inspired :)

27 January

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday everyone! It’s just about the weekend, and we hope everyone has had a blissful week. We can’t believe that there is only a week left of January. How has everyone’s New Years resolutions been coming along? :) We’re only at the beginning of the year, so there’s still time to get started on your goals. Tomorrow is also Visit Your Local Quilt Shop Day, a day to celebrate independently-owned quilt shops. So if you’re not sure what to do this weekend, be sure to check out your local quilt shops for special events and more!

It’s also time for another Fan Friday! Today we are sharing a fantastic, geek-approved Etsy Shop called FashionablyGeeky247. Ashley, owner and designer of FashionablyGeeky247, is a full-time college student and started up her shop as a way to showcase her love of all things geeky and crafting.

She custom designs the dresses to each customer and each design can be created with a multitude of fabric options. All of the dresses are very 50s inspired, with their full skirts and bustier tops. Ashley has chosen lots of our Star Wars fabric designs for her dresses, and we definitely needed to share! All the dresses are beautiful and look amazing with our Star Wars designs.

In the wise words of Ashley herself, “I created this shop to give fellow Star Wars fans, Trekkies, and Super Hero lovers a chance to be fashionably geeky. We can wear a dress that shouts I LOVE STAR WARS or I LOVE BATMAN and still have that femininity to attract everyone around us. Guys love geeks and Girls love fashion, so that’s why my store is perfect for the girls who wants to be ‘Fashionably Geeky'”. Definitely well said, who says being “geeky” isn’t also stylish and feminine? :)
