Hi everyone!
Happy Friday! We hope you are all having a great end to the week. We are in our first week of March already! This weekend is Spring Forward…not looking forward to waking up an “extra” hour earlier on Sunday but very happy about more sunshine! Spring shouldn’t get too far along now, we hope! :)
Today is our Fan Friday blog post, and we are sharing a fun project with you all today. Fellow Canadian, Tiffany Skogan, is a stay-at-home mommy with a new baby boy and an avid crafter. She loves to create her own sewing projects, more specifically baby-inspired, and started to make these projects for herself and friends! All of her projects are soft and cuddly, and things that she uses on an everyday basis – but with an adorable twist!

Having gotten lots of positive feedback from her friends, she decided to open up a small Etsy Shop (BugInARugBC) to showcase her items around the world. Sewing and creating is a hobby and a passion for Tiffany, and it definitely shows in all the things she makes. She has now expanded her list of items to baby blankets, hooded towels, crayon rolls, strap covers, and lots of other baby essential items!

Tiffany absolutely adores our Imaginarium Collection, and used it for lots of her baby essential items. She shared some her favorites with us, and we definitely had to share them with all of you! We adore the strap covers and baby blanket with our Imaginarium fabric!!
Thank you so much, Tiffany, for sharing with us – We absolutely adore all your baby products! We hope you have enjoyed this week’s Fan Friday. Until next week, have a fantastic weekend everyone!! :)

Hi everyone!
Happy Monday! We hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the week. It’s officially March, and we are very excited for Spring to arrive. That means warmer breezes, luscious greenery, and pretty flowers…okay, Mother Nature? :) Meanwhile, St Patrick’s Day is coming up and we’re conjuring up some fun and lucky things in the office.
Today is Moody Monday on the blog and we’re here to inspire you! This week we are showcasing our What’s Cookin’ by Allison Cole collection. This is a very vibrant and vivacious collection, with a mixture of tomato red, dark grey, mustard, and blues. Kitchen tools, vegetables, and flora combine together to make this collection very kitsy and eclectic. Mushrooms, tomatoes, carrots…this collection is making us hungry too! It is the perfect collection for a modern kitchen – imagine tea towels, aprons, and a little one’s chef hat with our What’s Cookin’ by Allison Cole collection! Oh so much fun, right? :)

The fashion scene is always two steps ahead of its time, and the colors in What’s Cookin’ are perfectly in tune with autumn. One collection that particularly sparks some contrast is Manish Arora’s stunning collection. This RTW Fall/Winter 2013-2014 collection enthuses rich hues of that greatly resembles What’s Cookin’. The richness of the colors of blues, yellow, red, and grey are stunning, along with the amazing embellishments of each piece. Each outfit is very much a work of art with jewelled collars, exquisite prints, and wonder uses of color. Manish Arora’s collection is luxurious, just as a woman should feel wearing any of these pieces. You can check out the full collection here.
Thank you so much for reading this week’s Moody Monday. We hope you were inspired! Have a great day! :)

March
Hi everyone!
Happy Friday! We hope everyone is having a great day. It’s the last day of February, and we are wondering where the time has gone. February seriously flew by! We’re very excited for the start of March, and for all the amazing things to come…and also for Spring! We are in need of some warmer weather.
Today is also Fan Friday on the blog, and we are featuring a wonderful Etsy Shop today with the absolute cutest name! A Tiny Forest is a lovely business, started by Kim Payne, creating stunning and high-quality handcrafted products that are also very practical for everyday use. What started as a passion to sew, quickly sparked into a very successful little business! ” I love to make items that are useful and practical, but also lovely and unique. My little shop, A Tiny Forest, was born of that desire. It’s just me and a sewing machine, and I do everything from the design phase all the way to shipping. I also have the responsibility of caring for my family, so it’s a delicate balance.”

According to Kim, mason jars are all the rage…and we definitely agree! Mason jar ideas are always being pinned on Pinterest, and for good reason – there are so many different things you can do with them. And Pinterest makes us want to do them all! One awesome idea from Kim is to use them to pack leftovers for lunch. That’s what she was doing for her husband, packing his work lunch in mason jars, but because they are glass it wasn’t the easiest to transport. That’s when Kim’s mason jar bags were born!

The mason jar bags feature pocket sleeves inside to segment and hold the jars, and even fold out if you want to carry something else! The bags come in several sizes to carry quart-sized, pint-sized, & half pint-sized jars and sturdy handles to carry all your goods. As well, Kim has an eye for pretty designs and chooses a great selection of fabric collections for her products that are playful and fresh. We especially adore that Kim chooses a matching, equally fun, print for the interior! Kim chose our Iconic collection and we think this bag is absolutely beautiful!! We definitely would love to take this bag to work or to the local market with us – so pretty and stylish!!

Hi everyone!
Happy Thursday! We hope everyone is having a positive and great day. Today is National Strawberry Day!! Enjoy some delicious strawberries today and get inspired by our sweet strawberry-printed fabrics here and here :)
It’s also this week’s Thankful Thursday, and today we are taking the time to thank a wonderful company that we had the privilege to meet at this year’s CHA. Today we are going to bring you into the world of Fiskars!
Fiskars is the leading brand when it comes to tools and cutting products. Fiskars launched their first pair of plastic-handled scissors in 1967, and ever since have been one of the world’s best scissor brand! Fiskars is known for their innovative and high-quality, crafted products but also for their iconic orange handles. Though orange now plays an important role in their identity, it was actually by chance – using leftover resin from a juicer for the scissor’s handles! Great choice, Fiskar!! :)

We got the chance to learn more about and chat with some wonderful people at Fiskars, at this year’s CHA Show. Being a fabrics company, we can often be found in the sewing or cutting room working on new projects or cutting up fabric. Finding the best tools always makes a task that much easier, and overall better, and we were absolutely amazed by how wonderful our Fiskar scissors glided seamlessly to cut fabric pieces! There’s nothing more frustrating than working on a sewing project, and having dull scissors – not fun at all! We found that these scissors not only worked wonders with our fabric, but also with our Ad-Fab™ and felt (hard and soft, adhesive and regular), and perfectly with sticky surfaces.
The incredible people at Fiskars provided us with lots of amazing goodies for crafting! Fiskars provided us with a Rotary Cutter & Ruler Combo (perfect for measuring and cutting perfect edges, ie. a crafter’s dream tool!), an Ergo Control rotary cutter, a Two-Sided Rotary Mat, and two sizes of fabric scissors. It was exceptionally generous and sweet of them to do so, and we want to thank them for being so amazing…and for making our fabric cutting lives so much easier! :) Thank you so much to everyone at Fiskars for providing us incredible goodies. It was wonderful getting to chat with you at the CHA!
We hope you have enjoyed this week’s Thankful Thursday. Be sure to check out Fiskars for all their amazing products. Have a wonderful day everyone!
