Hi everyone,

Happy Friday!! It’s almost the weeeeeekend. Woo! We hope all the moms have an incredible Mother’s Day this weekend, surrounded by lots of love and warm hugs. (Pssst.. we’re also hosting a Mother’s Day Giveaway!)

It’s time for this week’s Fan Friday! Today we are featuring a lovely personalized essential oils case found on the Girl Restored Shop. Jessie Carroll is the creative gal behind Girl Restored, an Etsy Shop dedicated to handmade, original bags of all sorts. She specializes in creating bags (clutches, train cases, makeup bags) with removable pockets for your essential oils, so that they are organized & will not spill everywhere. She also creates all of her own patterns, sells some of her patterns in her shop, and offers custom orders too.

Jessie chose our Bright Now by Jackie McFee Collection to create a fun, personalized case – complete with a personalized letter front, tassels, and pockets for your essential oils. She chose our yellow colorway for the bag, yellow drops for the shell & polka dots for the inner lining, that matched perfectly with the bronze letter and zipper tassel. The bag is a great size for all of your cosmetics, for travelling, and can hold up to 20 essential oil bottles.

08 May

Hi everyone,

Happy Thursday! We hope you all are having a fantastic day. It’s Chinese New Year (or Lunar New Year), and it’s the year of the sheep. We wish you all a wonderful year full of happiness, prosperity, and memories.

Today’s Thankful Thursday is featuring a lovely pattern shop that we have had the pleasure of working with. We have worked with Alicia of Swoon Sewing Patterns for our Quilt Market shows, and her bags are always a hit. Swoon Sewing Patterns offers pretty, modern patterns for bags and other accessories, and are one of our favorite pattern shops online. From travel bags to her oversized clutch, there’s a pattern for just about every occasion.

Each pattern is easy-to-follow and clear, and the end result is a gem, made by you, that will not look “homemade”. Alicia is a graphic designer by trade, who fell in love with sewing. She found that the commercial patterns she used were not always user-friendly, and decided to try her hand at pattern-making. From there, Swoon Sewing Patterns has only grown – from Etsy to quilt shops – to become many sewers’ preferred, “go-to” pattern shop. And we couldn’t agree more!

Alicia chose our Design Studio Collection to be on the cover of her Dorothy Day Tripper Bag Pattern. We got super excited!! She had made this bag for one of our past QM shows, and everyone LOVED it…so we are so happy that she chose to feature it as the cover. It is stunning, and would be the perfect, stylish weekend or diaper bag!

Thank you so much, Alicia, for featuring our Design Studio Collection on your cover. We have had so much fun working with you, and hope we get to again soon!! You can find more from Swoon Sewing Patterns on her website, Facebook Page, Instagram, and Pinterest. Have an amazing rest of the day, everyone!

Hi everyone!

It’s Friday!! We hope everyone has had a lovely week…but cheers to the weekend!

Today we’ve got another brilliant fan project to share with you all, Becky from Sew Becky Jo! Fabric-enthusiast, Becky, created the most awesome {and incredibly practical!} tote bag, using our Star Wars Greenprint fabric. She used a pattern from Fresh Lemons, called the Farmer’s Market Tote, and after seeing pictures…we are oh-so jealous!

The super-handy tote is beautifully lined and has extra storage pockets (who doesn’t love pockets?!) on the outside, an essential for any farmer’s market-aficionado (ahem, or for those who throw just about everything into their bags…we are guilty!). We applaud Becky for her fantastic craftsmanship on the tote!

Becky also sewed some uber cute bibs with our Superman and Batman flannels for a couple of superhero-worthy babies. Love!
