Hi everyone,
Happy Monday! This is our first Moody Monday feature of the fall, and for a sweet start to the season we’ve chosen a fresh little outfit from Jil Sander’s Spring 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection. With its clean white ground and fizzy pops of paisley, this jacket & shorts combo reminded us of nothing so much as our Pepsi quilting cotton. Of course we’re also adoring those luscious blocks of color incorporated into the runway. It’s almost as if Sander took a peep at this jazzy-hued print before designing her catwalk! Honestly, do you need any more convincing that these two collections are meant for each other? No? Didn’t think so.

Time to share another awesome project with you all! For this week’s How To’s Day, we are featuring our effortlessly cozy Simple Stripes Baby Blanket! Our Simple Stripes Baby Blanket is the perfect project for those who may be intimidated by quilting because the result is a beautiful patchwork design. This baby blanket is modern and chic with its, as the name suggests, simple striped pattern – you can choose to create a fun ombre effect with bold solids or perhaps tell a story using some novelty fabrics…the possibilities are infinite.

We chose to use our Playground Collection, which adds a whimsical and “playful” feel to the blanket. With its fun numbers, balloons, and playground attractions, this Playground baby blanket is perfect for any little nugget who loves adventure! :)

We are sure you will have so much fun making our Simple Stripes Baby Blanket, you’ll want to make one (or more!) for all the little kiddies (…and future little kiddies!) in your life. Click MORE to see the full tutorial!

The official, last Monday of August!! Today we are sharing our It’s a Bird’s Life by Heather Rosas Collection for this week’s Moody Monday. It’s a Bird’s Life brings you the majestic-ness of a beautiful and temperate field of fresh blooms. The sounds of the birds happily chirping, the smell of the luscious florals, and the feeling of the crisp air – that is all the things that It’s a Bird’s Life reminds us of. This collection is a mix of warm grey, coral, yellow, and mint hues in whimsical designs of birds, birdhouses, flowers, and geometric patterns. We could imagine a darling little girl’s half-circle skirt or little tot’s tote in this collection. And, how about a floral & bird infused quilt or two for your bedroom or living room? LOVE! You can check out the full collection HERE.

One collection that reminds us of the prettiness of our It’s a Bird’s Life is that of Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2014 RTW Collection. Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2014 Collection encapsulates a very whimsical, nature-inspired feel to it with floral vines decorating the clothing pieces and printed scenes from Greece. Gabbana describes the collection as “an unconscious dream”, as the clothing have a contrasting feel of real and what is irrational, which can only be found in dreams. We get that sense of fantasy and imagination in this collection, which inspired us with this week’s Moody Monday for It’s a Bird’s Life. You can check out the full collection for Dolce & Gabbana‘s Spring 2014 collection HERE.

We hope we have inspired you with this week’s Moody Monday! Let us know what you favorite design is in our It’s a Bird’s Life Collection. Have a good one!

Hi everyone!
Happy Monday! We hope you all had a restful and fun weekend, working on some crafty projects or just taking it easy. If you’re looking for a new project, be sure to check out all of our latest How To’s Day! We’ve got some pretty fantastic in-house and outsourced projects, such as our Teeny Tiny Play Set and Felt Citrus Party Tags.
To help start off this week, we’ve got our Moody Monday! Today we are inspiring you with our Opposites Attract by Jackie McFee, from Summer 2014. This may be a collection of basic colors, but our Opposites Attract Collection is anything but simple. The lively and cheerful designs make these two neutral colors pop and dance on the fabric! This collection includes intricate chevron, floral, dot, scroll, and geometric patterns – who says black and white has to be boring? ;) We love the idea of a black, white, or black & white outfit with a pop of color in the accessories, or vice versa. We think our foldover wedding clutch is the perfect chic accessory for any upcoming party, and a black & white quilt is SO modern. We absolutely adore the look of our Elevation pillow in black & white prints too!

Black and white are SO chic! There is something so elegant about a simple black and white ensemble. Because the color palette is limited, you’re left to play with different patterns and textures to add interest to your outfit. One designer that particular reminds us of Opposites Attract is Ralph Lauren‘s Spring 2014 Collection. Lauren’s collection is a mix of colors, but the ensembles that we particularly loved are the black & white ones…of course haha. We LOVED the floral and chevron patterns, and the cool mix of prints in one outfit. Lauren knows how to have fun with fashion, and this collection definitely showed that. When a designer can create a fabulous outfit with limited colors, they are brilliant…and Lauren definitely is! You can check out the full collection HERE.

We hope we have inspired you with this week’s Moody Monday! You can check out the full collection for Opposites Attract here. Let us know your favorite way to wear black, white, or black and white! Have a great day!! :)

Hi everyone!
Happy Monday! Here’s to the start of another great week – can’t believe that it’s almost mid-August. Where do the days go? We’re trying to enjoy the last bits of hot weather – swimming, going to the beach, refreshing frozen yogurt, and shopping were some of our plans this weekend. What were some of your weekend adventures? Also, in case you’ve got a case of the Monday blues, we’ve got our Frolicking Forest Giveaway for you on our Facebook Page. Be sure to head on over there to enter!
Let’s get inspired by this week’s Moody Monday! Today we are sharing our London Fog by Camelot Design Studio Collection with you. London Fog is a classic palette of warm mustard, navy, gray, and a splash of mint. Ruched, tweed, and pretty geometric patterns make this collection contemporary, yet playful. There is a rustic and cozy feel to London Fog, which reminds us of those rainy days spent indoors snuggling into a knitted blanket with a great book and some warm tea. We can imagine a beautiful shift dress or robe in our London Fog’s turquoise and navy print, a men’s tie in contemporary colours, and a modern geometric-infused quilt for a couch accent or bedspread. London Fog is one dashing and classic-feeling collection!

Even though we are still enjoying our summertime, we are starting to think about the transitional period between Summer and Autumn weather. During that time, colors will darken and become more muted. We love the idea of Fall textures and colors with a summer-appropriate outfit, such as a light blouse and a tweed skirt or a t-shirt dress and a utility vest. These simple changes can take your summer wardrobe into the Fall without completely changing your style, or disregarding your Summer items! By mixing and matching Summer and Fall pieces, you’ll get the perfect transitional outfits for Autumn weather.
The outfit below is a perfect example of that – a light, mustard-color blouse and a tweed & leather mini skirt makes this a great transition-into-Fall outfit. Add some black tights and over-the-knee boots and you’ve got yourself a Fall outfit! The patterns and colors in this outfit remind us of our London Fog Collection, and it has definitely inspired us to create our own transitional outfits using our Summer wardrobe. You can check out the full London Fog Collection here!

We hope you have enjoyed, and have been inspired by, this week’s Moody Monday!! We’d love to know how you slowly transition your style from Summer to Autumn! Have a great day, everyone :)
