Hi everyone,

Happy Monday! And to our fellow Canadians, we hope you are having a loving and restful long weekend. Happy Thanksgiving! “Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our thanksgiving.” – W. T. Purkiser

It’s also Moody Monday! Today we bring to you our moodboard inspired by Jackie McFee’s Kabloom! from our Summer 2013 collection.

Kabloom_mood

Kabloom! is a fantastic rupture of florals and mod patterns in bold hues of fuchsias, blues, and greens. When we see this wonderfully color-infused collection, we think eccentric, confidence, and fashion-forward.

One collection that particularly inspires us, from the recent Spring 2014 RTW fashion shows, is that of Emilio Pucci. Pucci, always meticulously successful with his bright color and print choices, displayed a wide array of fun hues for Spring 2014. All of his flawlessly mixed and complimentary outfits are definitely “Kabloom!” worthy. Be sure to check out the collection here!

Happy Sewing!

Hi everyone!

TGIF!! Wishing everyone a lovely Friday, and a Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all our fellow Canadians! Here at Camelot Fabrics, we have much to be thankful for…especially all of those who love our fabrics as much as we do! Seeing all the amazing and unique projects created using our fabrics truly make our days.

Today’s Fan Friday features the wonderfully talented Beth, and her lovely Geek-a-Bye Baby team!

Geek-a-Bye Baby started out as Beth’s quest for the perfect baby bedding (aka pirate monkeys…umm, how awesome!!) for the dream of a pirate monkeys-themed nursery. After no such luck on bedding, she decided to look for some pirate monkey fabric to bring her vision to life. Once her little one was born, she went all out making adorable “geek-worthy” blankies for her, and after many positive comments from strangers on starting up her own shop to sell them…she did! And thus, Geek-a-Bye Baby was born…and has only been growing wonderfully since! Geek-a-Bye Baby now carries a wide-range of “geeky” baby items, from burp cloths to sweet crocheted hats to custom bedding.

We are so honored to be one of Beth’s fabric choices for her designs! Seeing our Star Trek and Star Wars fabrics created into darling bedding sheets and baby bibs makes our hearts swoon. We think once you see them, you will feel the same. Here are some of our personal favorites:

BurdaStyle has recently launched a new series called Burda Videos on their website, a collection of webinars going back to the sewing basics. Together, Instructor and Online Editor of BurdaStyle.com Meg Healy and Denise Wild have created a fantastic platform for beginner and advanced sewing-enthusiasts alike. We were so honored to be contacted by Denise Wild. When she asked us if Burda Videos could feature and use our fabrics for their webinars…our answer was, of course, instantly yes! We happily sent over bolts of our fabrics to their studio, and have been super excited to see them being featured in the blog posts and webinars – so much fun!

Burda Videos is such an amazing, new concept that we definitely think everyone will enjoy. You can check out all their webinars here! Also be sure to check out this lovely blog post here which features our fabrics in the background ;)

Thank you so much Denise for the wonderful support and for including us & our fabrics in the Burda Videos webinars!

Happy Sewing!
