Hi everyone,
Happy Thursday! We hope you all are having a fantastic day. It’s Chinese New Year (or Lunar New Year), and it’s the year of the sheep. We wish you all a wonderful year full of happiness, prosperity, and memories.
Today’s Thankful Thursday is featuring a lovely pattern shop that we have had the pleasure of working with. We have worked with Alicia of Swoon Sewing Patterns for our Quilt Market shows, and her bags are always a hit. Swoon Sewing Patterns offers pretty, modern patterns for bags and other accessories, and are one of our favorite pattern shops online. From travel bags to her oversized clutch, there’s a pattern for just about every occasion.
Each pattern is easy-to-follow and clear, and the end result is a gem, made by you, that will not look “homemade”. Alicia is a graphic designer by trade, who fell in love with sewing. She found that the commercial patterns she used were not always user-friendly, and decided to try her hand at pattern-making. From there, Swoon Sewing Patterns has only grown – from Etsy to quilt shops – to become many sewers’ preferred, “go-to” pattern shop. And we couldn’t agree more!

Alicia chose our Design Studio Collection to be on the cover of her Dorothy Day Tripper Bag Pattern. We got super excited!! She had made this bag for one of our past QM shows, and everyone LOVED it…so we are so happy that she chose to feature it as the cover. It is stunning, and would be the perfect, stylish weekend or diaper bag!
Thank you so much, Alicia, for featuring our Design Studio Collection on your cover. We have had so much fun working with you, and hope we get to again soon!! You can find more from Swoon Sewing Patterns on her website, Facebook Page, Instagram, and Pinterest. Have an amazing rest of the day, everyone!

Hi everyone,
Happy Thursday!! We hope you are all having a wonderful day. We have been sharing our Winter 2015 Collections with you all this week. You can check them out here! As well, we’re hosting a Winsday this week – enter to win a Red Panda Pattern & Felt Prize on our Facebook Page.
Time for our Thankful Thursday! Because it’s Valentine’s Day this Saturday, we wanted to dedicated this week’s post to “love”. Whether you’ll be spending the day with your significant other, family, friends, or catching up on some sewing projects…the term “love” can mean so many different things. Yes, Valentine’s Day has been commercialized as a day to celebrate your love with your significant other – flowers, chocolate, dinner – but the root of the day, to us, is about the love you have and the love you give. We’ve heard the term “S.A.D.” (aka single’s awareness day) coined for those who don’t have a partner to celebrate with. But, NO! You don’t need to be in a relationship to feel love ♥

We feel love when we’re doing something we enjoy (sewing, shopping, baking…), are hanging out with our significant others & friends, and come into work everyday in our fabric wonderland haha. We also feel the love when we get comments from all of YOU, on our projects, blog posts, and new fabric collections. Hearing all of your positive and sweet comments makes our DAY!! So, thank YOU for making us feel loved. We hope we do the same when you stop by the blog everyday ♥
Remember that Valentine’s Day isn’t a day just for couples, and it shouldn’t be the only day to commemorate love either. Hug, kiss, compliment, and laugh with the people who make you feel loved today, and everyday!! ♥ And remember, never forget the person in the mirror = YOU!! Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! We hope you have a love-filled weekend!!

Hi everyone,
Happy Thursday! We hope you all are having a wonderful day so far. Did you know…that today is World Nutella Day? Yup, it’s an official day dedicated to the incredibly delicious (and highly addictive!) chocolate, hazelnut spread that is amazing with pretty much anything (or on it’s own. Spoonfuls? We’re not judging haha!).
Time for our Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our favorite magazines, Craft Ideas. Their latest Winter 2014 edition was also the big reveal of their new look. Everything got revamped and updated, and it looks fantastic!! Complete with a new logo, the updated magazine now features a “New Products” section (a breakdown of the latest craft tools and materials), Book Reviews, a “Green Ideas” section (listings for eco-friendly products and companies), and highlights up-and-coming designers. As well, Craft Ideas will now be releasing a new printed issue every second month! We were always a fan of Craft Ideas, and were so excited that they were taking on this new venture.

Flipping through the Winter 2014 issue, you might recognize some familiar projects. Craft Ideas featured two of our free projects in their magazine. The first is our Cascading Chevrons Pillow, one of our favorites! You can find the free pattern on our website too. As well, they featured our Border Blast Quilt by one of our wonderful pattern designers, Larene Smith of The Quilted Button.

We love working with Craft Ideas Magazine and are so happy they love our projects. And, it’s also so fun seeing our projects featured in print! You can find out more from Craft Ideas on their website, Facebook Page, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube. And with that, we’re going to find us some Nutella…haha. Have a great day!

Hi everyone,
Happy Thursday!! We hope you all are having a lovely day. Have you entered our Elixir Giveaway yet? We want to know what your favorite Pantone 2015 color is. You can enter on our Facebook Page here :)
It’s time for our Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring Needle Travel, a fantastic fiber & fabric travel guide that is super useful for anyone who loves fabric. Needle Travel is a reference book of quilt & craft shops in the United States (we hope they expand!), complete with contact information and addresses. The shops are organized by state and are in alphabetical order, so you can easily find the shop nearest you (super convenient when you travel and want to peruse shops in an unknown area!). As well, Needle Travel features a legend to easily guide you on what each shop specifically carries (fabric, yarn, needlepoint, etc). The travel guide is updated each year with added shops & changed information, and they now offer an app for smartphone users!

We think the Needle Travel guide is a brilliant concept. We often get asked where our fabric is sold, so this is the perfect reference because many of the quilt shops who sell our fabrics are featured. And if you flip through the book, you may come across someone familiar…yup, us! ;) *sigh* our fabrics are looking oh-so pretty…

We really wanted to feature Needle Travel on the blog because we think it’s awesome! Compact, super convenient, and up-to-date – all the information you need on local quilt and craft shops in one place. You can check out their website and Facebook to see where you can find a copy. Have a great day, everyone! :)

Hi everyone,
Happy Thursday! We hope you all are having a lovely day so far. Today is Celebration of Life Day so we’re taking some time to write down some of our 2015 goals. We’re going to make this year the best one yet!
Time for our weekly Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring one of our awesome pattern designers, Elizabeth Shepherd of E-Beth Designs. Elizabeth is a of lover all sewing and fabric, just like us, who decided to create an online fabric shop when she became a stay-at-home mommy. Having two degrees in pattern and apparel design, there is no doubt that Elizabeth adores creating projects and patterns, so it came natural for her to add “pattern shop” to her list. “E-Beth Designs” was born; the name influenced by her grandpa’s nickname for her. Her patterns are fun, with a modern flair, for both adults and kids! Lots of colorful and eye-catching patterns to be found at E-Beth Designs!
We found Elizabeth on Instagram, when she had shared a project with us featuring one of our collections. After perusing her website, we knew we had to work with this talented designer. We collaborated with her to create an adorable Little One’s Apron pattern. The apron features pretty ruffles at the bottom and POCKETS!! Yes, we get excited about anything even more when they have pockets haha. We chose to feature it in our Beyond the Backyard by Jane Farnham Collection. It’s just the perfect apron for your little helper in the kitchen!

You can find the full tutorial for our Little One’s Apron on our website. Thank you so much Elizabeth for the wonderful pattern for our Free Projects Program. We had so much fun collaborating with you, and cannot wait for what’s to come. You can find more from Elizabeth on her website, Etsy Shop, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram, . Have an amazing day, everyone!
