Hi everyone!

Happy Thursday everyone! We hope everyone is feeling fantastic! We are hosting another awesome Winsday this week, we are giving away our Itty Bitty FQB and two coordinating Aurifil spools!! Such a great prize pack, so if you’d like to enter the giveaway be sure to head on over to our Facebook Page.

It’s also time for this week’s Thankful Thursday! Today we are featuring a wonderful and delectable craft magazine, Craft Ideas! We are such huge fans of Craft Ideas Magazine, not just for their incredible content, but also the people are the sweetest. We want to take a moment to thank Annie Niemic for being such a lovely person to work with and get to know! We have featured Craft Ideas on the blog previously, which you can check out here, but there can never be too much praise for this magazine. We love this magazine for its creative crafts, from beading to sewing to crocheting and everything else in between!

Yes, it’s still Summer but it’s never too early to start thinking about Fall and Winter decor ideas (am I right? haha!). We absolutely adore Craft Ideas’ Autumn-inspired magazine, which is giving us so many fabulous ideas for upcoming crafts for the fall season. It’s so lovely to flip through the vibrant pages and see all the warm autumn hues! There’s even a Halloween section (we are big fans of Halloween in the Camelot Design Studio…dressing up = the best thing ever!), and are excited to make the mini dracula ornaments – too cute!! If you continue to flip through the magazine, you’ll find two of our projects – our Herringbone Quilt by Christa Quilts (p.72) and our Roonie the Raccoon Pillow (p.68)!

Hi everyone!

Today is another How To’s day…time for another crafty project for you all! We are sharing with you a tutorial on how to make your very own Smoking Slippers.

week05_smoking-slippers

Our Smoking Slippers for Men & Women were made with the Design Studio Collection. The ladies’ slippers are made from 2140504 #1, Blue & Gray Fretwork, and the men’s slippers are made from 2140507 #3, Gray Mandorla.

As far as flat shoes goes, ballet slippers have been “in” for the longest time and still will be for years to come. But, there is a new contender in the mix that we have seen pop up lately…and those are the adorable smoking slippers. Originally from the Victorian Era, smoking slippers were used by men when they entered the, well, smoking room. Fast forward to the 21st century, they are now the latest footwear for both men and women…and with the newfound purpose of simply fashion wear.

Smoking slippers are a mix between a ballet flat and a loafer, and are often embellished with tassels, monograms, and in fun prints. And on top of being fashion forward and trendy, they are also super comfortable.

Today we are showing you how to make your very own pair of smoking slippers, so now you can be on-trend at home too! Let’s get sewing!

Hi everyone!!

It’s time for another How To’s Day! Halloween is quickly approaching (in 8 days!!), and we wanted to share with you a fun and easy DIY project that you can make in time for the spooky holiday. This DIY project is absolutely delightful and would be the perfect costume for any youngster (but it can be modified for adults too, of course!!).

This DIY Halloween tutorial will show you how to make a fantastic fox hat and tail using our fleece, which is perfect for this costume (psst: our Fleece and Flannel catalogues are out; you can check them out online here and here respectively!). What does the fox say? Who really knows…but if we did, we are sure they would approve of our DIY fox costume!

Now take a gander at these dashing foxes below. They are looking pretty adorable in their fox costumes…all ready to go Trick or Treating!!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to another Fan Friday post!! This also means that today is Friday…the last day before the weekend (hooray!!). Let’s celebrate the last day of the work week by sharing another amazing fan project with you all.

Erin Erickson recently shared with us her Two Zip Hipster Bag using one of our Star Wars fabric designs. When we clicked on the link and saw the picture, we instantly fell head over heels for the bag (and using our fabric, nonetheless!) – we just had to share!!

[Quoted by Erin on her blog: I love Camelot Fabrics. Camelot are you listening? You make my geeky side so happy! – You made us super happy. We LOVE hearing all of your positive feedback so to that we say a big thank you Erin for the love!! <3]

Erin is the pattern maker and founder of Dog Under My Desk PDF Sewing Patterns. She has fantastic, easy-to-follow patterns for all your bag needs (daytripper, makeup, lunch, and more!). You can check them all out in her store by clicking here! Erin also has a correlating blog where she posts informative and creative tutorials, interfacing and pattern tips, giveaways, and fun updates.

Erin made her Two Zip Hipster Bag for one of her friends, Lisa, who is a big Star Wars fan and she chose our Star Wars Blue Schematic fabric for it! Lisa wanted her bag to be iPad-friendly, so Erin made the bag pattern a bit bigger…and tada! It came out looking pretty fantastic. You can check out the full post on the bag here. Now on to some pictures!!
