Hi everyone!  We’re starting off February with a blog hop organized by Tricia Maloney to celebrate her newest book I Love Precut Quilts! published by C & T Publishing.  And it’s not just a blog hop, but there is a giveaway of Tricia’s book too! More about that in a bit…

We love to thumb through new quilting books and love the easy to follow instructions in Tricia’s book – perfect for beginner quilters. More seasoned quilters too will find some fun projects to stitch up in a moment’s notice.

Two of our favourite patterns in the book are:  Paper Lanterns (show left below, would be fun in Camelot Fresh Solids and Mixology), and the Serenity Table Set (shown right, we envision this place setting in Do What You Love).

Tricia is no stranger to Camelot Fabrics.  She has designed and created beautiful quilts for us to showcase our collections at Quilt Market. Pictured below are the quilts she made for our You Are Dino-Mite collection (left, arriving in stores June 2017) and Meadow collection (right, in stores this month!).  Not coincidentally, many of the quilts Tricia has created for us are well suited to precuts :).

Happy Monday everyone!

We hope you are all having a beautiful start to the week.

On to our Moody Monday!

This week we are featuring our Hello my Deer Collection by Camelot Design Studio.  I love how this collection looks overall. The taupe and olive colors blend in perfectly with the pink.  It adds a feminine feel to the outdoor theme that is so trendy right now.

I had a chance to play with this fabric line and you can see my tips and tricks to make the Saybrook Island quilted pillow in an earlier How To blog.  Now don’t forget to look at our mixology grouping to find matching taupe, zinc and white colors.   And spruce it up with a touch of Mixology Woven in Cotton Candy!  You’d be surprised how it makes it all work!

Be sure to check out the full collection of Hello My Deer in your local quilt shop. Click here to find the one nearest your home.

Happy Sewing!

22 August

August is probably my favorite month out of the year.  First of all it’s the month that has the most birthdays in my agenda!  Not only was I born in August, but as time goes by I realize that a lot of people I know are also from that month.   Within two weeks, I celebrate over 12 birthdays!  And would you believe me if I’d say that I share my very own birthday with three other friends!  So my birthday has never been about me but more about friends and family rejoicing that we survived yet another year!

But I digress…

What a treat I got this week!  Jenny, Ron and April from Missouri Star Quilt Co. came by to visit our premises and see some of our new fabric collections.

It was just such a pleasure to give them a tour!

Who said How to’s day  blog posts had to be about quilting and sewing?  This is a special How To’s as I will show you how to plan a weekend getaway to Vermont with your Best Quilting Friends! I know this post is late for this year, that’s because I was living the moment over the weekend! I hope this post will inspire many of you to plan this trip in 2017.

I feel very fortunate to have many Best Quilting Friends and a bunch of us got away from it all and headed to our favorite place to be on the last week end of June: Vermont.
