Hi everyone,

Happy Monday! Wishing everyone a fantastic start to the week. We woke up to flurries, and it is currently still coming down. Time to bring out the parkas and winter boots!! Also, have you entered our Fresh Solids FQB Giveaway yet? Be sure to enter on our Facebook Page by letting us know what your favorite fresh solid is.

It’s time to start off the week with some inspiration, with our Moody Monday! Today we are featuring our gorgeous Wildflowers by Alisse Courter Collection. This whimsy collection is full of dainty floral prints, fluttery vines, and lovely sprigs in comforting chartreuse, grey, turquoise, and coral hues. So elegant and pretty, this collection would make for a sweet little girl’s dress or full circle skirt. As well, we love the idea of adding a Wildflowers quilt draped on a couch or bed to add a touch of femininity.

Vera Wang’s Spring 2015 RTW Collection was brooding and dark, but the prints and silhouettes were far from simple. Keeping the color palette relatively simple – blacks and neutral floral prints – Vera chose to focus on silhouettes and texture. Lots of ruffles, brocade, floral, and sparkle, as well as flowing draping textiles. Such a stunning collection! We especially loved this dress, which reminded us of our Wildflowers Collection, with its dainty coral florals. You can see the rest of the collection here!

We hope you have been inspired by this week’s Moody Monday! We would love to know what trends you are looking forward to for the Spring season (yup, we know we’re just at the cusp of winter…but hey, we can dream of warmer weather lol). Have a good one!

The official, last Monday of August!! Today we are sharing our It’s a Bird’s Life by Heather Rosas Collection for this week’s Moody Monday. It’s a Bird’s Life brings you the majestic-ness of a beautiful and temperate field of fresh blooms. The sounds of the birds happily chirping, the smell of the luscious florals, and the feeling of the crisp air – that is all the things that It’s a Bird’s Life reminds us of. This collection is a mix of warm grey, coral, yellow, and mint hues in whimsical designs of birds, birdhouses, flowers, and geometric patterns. We could imagine a darling little girl’s half-circle skirt or little tot’s tote in this collection. And, how about a floral & bird infused quilt or two for your bedroom or living room? LOVE! You can check out the full collection HERE.

One collection that reminds us of the prettiness of our It’s a Bird’s Life is that of Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2014 RTW Collection. Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2014 Collection  encapsulates a very whimsical, nature-inspired feel to it with floral vines decorating the clothing pieces and printed scenes from Greece. Gabbana describes the collection as “an unconscious dream”, as the clothing have a contrasting feel of real and what is irrational, which can only be found in dreams. We get that sense of fantasy and imagination in this collection, which inspired us with this week’s Moody Monday for It’s a Bird’s Life. You can check out the full collection for Dolce & Gabbana‘s Spring 2014 collection HERE.

Hi everyone!

Happy Monday! We hope you all had a restful and fun weekend, working on some crafty projects or just taking it easy. If you’re looking for a new project, be sure to check out all of our latest How To’s Day! We’ve got some pretty fantastic in-house and outsourced projects, such as our Teeny Tiny Play Set and Felt Citrus Party Tags.

To help start off this week, we’ve got our Moody Monday! Today we are inspiring you with our Opposites Attract by Jackie McFee, from Summer 2014. This may be a collection of basic colors, but our Opposites Attract Collection is anything but simple. The lively and cheerful designs make these two neutral colors pop and dance on the fabric! This collection includes intricate chevron, floral, dot, scroll, and geometric patterns – who says black and white has to be boring? ;) We love the idea of a black, white, or black & white outfit with a pop of color in the accessories, or vice versa. We think our foldover wedding clutch is the perfect chic accessory for any upcoming party, and a black & white quilt is SO modern. We absolutely adore the look of our Elevation pillow in black & white prints too!

Black and white are SO chic! There is something so elegant about a simple black and white ensemble. Because the color palette is limited, you’re left to play with different patterns and textures to add interest to your outfit. One designer that particular reminds us of Opposites Attract is Ralph Lauren‘s Spring 2014 Collection. Lauren’s collection is a mix of colors, but the ensembles that we particularly loved are the black & white ones…of course haha. We LOVED the floral and chevron patterns, and the cool mix of prints in one outfit. Lauren knows how to have fun with fashion, and this collection definitely showed that. When a designer can create a fabulous outfit with limited colors, they are brilliant…and Lauren definitely is! You can check out the full collection HERE.

Hi everyone!

Happy Monday! We hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend, and is ready for another great week. It’s an exciting week for us here at Camelot Fabrics because it is our Summer 2014 Launch Week! We will be launching a new collection every day this week. We started off our launch with our newest license: our Paddington Bear Collection by the Camelot Design Studio. Be sure to check out our blog post on it here, as well as all the beautiful designs and free projects on our website.

Time for this week’s Moody Monday! We are featuring one of our awesome licenses from Spring 2014 today, our Star Wars III Collection by the Camelot Design Studio. Our past Star Wars collections were huge successes, and we’ve gotten positive feedback for another SW collection, so we listened and brought you Star Wars III. Just as action-packed and brilliant as the previous two, Star Wars III brings you all of your favorite characters and designs. The vintage-inspired skus gives this collection an upbeat and impacting newness to our previous Star Wars collections, but keeping with the blue, red, and black hues of course! This collection is for all of our avid Star Wars enthusiasts! We think this collection would make for a brilliant quilt for a fellow SW fan, or how about an awesome Star Wars-themed party? You can’t forget about some fun SW bunting banners! You can see the full collection here.

The vibrant hues and space-inspired ensembles in David Koma’s Spring 2014 RTW Collection remind us our Star Wars III Collection. The intense blue hues, intricate leather detailing, and origami-inspired cuts of this collection give off a very out-of-this-worldly feel, and remind us of modern versions of the Star Wars’ uniforms. The clean styling, geometric cutouts, and overall modern esthetic of David Koma’s Spring 2014 are so fresh and innovative, and we absolutely adore this whole collection. You can check out the full collection here for more!

Hi everyone!

Happy Monday! We hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. Did anyone work on any fun projects? :) We have also hosting our Itty Bitty FQB x Aurifil Giveaway this week on our Facebook – be sure to enter HERE if you haven’t yet :)

It’s time for this week’s Moody Monday! We’re featuring one of our incredible licenses this week…our Ultimate Spider-Man II Collection by the Camelot Design Studio. This one is for all of our Marvel and Spidie fans – a collection of the iconic red and blue colors that showcase our main man brilliantly. Encapsulated in vivacious blue and red, Ultimate Spider-Man II features Spidie to the rescue, and of course using his iconic spiderweb.  All of the designs in our Ultimate Spider-Man II collection are great for a little (or not so little) man’s bedroom – imagine some Spider-man pillows and curtains, finished by an awesome blue- and red-infused quilt…perfect for a little superhero-in-training!

We were inspired by the classic red and blue colors in our Ultimate Spider-Man II Collection, and Dior’s Fall 2014 RTW Collection encapsulates a very futuristic and superhero-esque feel. We absolutely adore that this collection is color-focused, using bright and bolder colors as opposed to letting patterns voice the collection. We love color-blocking, and Dior’s collection does this brilliantly. Of course, we were inspired by the red and blue outfit (Spider-Man colors!)…two colors that you wouldn’t necessary put together in an outfit, but look fantastic! You can check out the full Dior Fall 2014 collection here.

We hope our Moody Monday has inspired you today; sometimes taking a chance and putting together two colors that you think might not work will create something new and fantastic. Have a good one, everyone! :)
