Hi everyone,

Happy Tuesday! Time for our How To’s Day!

I am not sure what you guys were up to last week end but with the nice weather I actually started cleaning out my backyard.  I had no choice as my husband has one obsession: his pool.  We were already mid-April and he just could not stand to wait another week to get it started.

You will soon learn that I am not a gardener, nor a cook, my true passion is fabrics.  So I gladly helped out to get the backyard ready for summer as it would mean that I get the basement (AKA my quilt cave) all to myself again.  The patio is set as well as our gazebo. But I noticed last summer that we have new neighbours and they tend to be in the backyard quite a bit as well so I started to wonder… and that’s when I got the idea to pull out this DIY project that we have made a while back:  The Tabbed Curtains!

I haven’t quite decided on which mixology fabric to choose from: Honeycomb, woven, tonic or herringbone.  I might even go for a scented  fabric!   Perhaps the Lavender Vanilla fabric for the curtains with some Pine Balsam as pillows.  That would really make a nice cozy and private outdoors area.  So I know what I am preparing next week end in my quilt cave!

How about you? What would you make for your outdoor area?

Hi everyone,

Happy Tuesday! Time for our How To’s Day!

And why not make it a How Two To’s Day as I can’t seem to decide which project I like most.

Looking at our Equestrian Collection for the Moody Monday blog got me looking at the fun DIY projects we made with the fabrics.  There are two that I really like.  They are quick to make and perfect to give to someone who loves horses.

Let’s start with the Soft Shell Tablet Case.  This lovely project was designed by Michelle Lopez from Hypernoodle and is just perfect for people on the go.  My mini I-Pad with keyboard fits perfectly inside.

Then, there’s the adorable Elevation Pillow.  The pattern was designed by Kristy Daum.  I just love how this pillow looks.  You can even use one of our fleece to make the back of the pillow to add more softness.  I remember that my son’s fourth grade teacher absolutely loved horses, this would have been a perfect gift at the end of the school year.

How about you? Which one would you make and for whom?

Hi Everyone,

This How To’s Day, we’re pleased as punch to introduce a brand new DIY! Find a little zen before your asanas and oms begin.  This ingenious little strap fits a yoga mat and adjusts in length to carry by your side or over your shoulder thanks to the slide adjuster construction.  Dress it up with ric-rac, ribbon and trim or add an extra tab for a caribiner or lobster clasp and never lose your keys.  It is designed to use the width of the fabric, so if you choose a fabric with a lengthwise pattern be aware that you will need additional yardage of the main fabric (1-1/4 yds instead of 1/2 yd).

Hi everyone,

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are having an amazing one. If you’ve got a bit of the winter blues, today’s post will definitely brighten up your day!

Today’s How To’s Day is of our Hang Time Quilt by Happy Quilting Designs. This one features our Kaleidoscope collection, which is a whimsical and bright collection of festive confetti, lovely mandalas, and cool ikat prints in a purple, mint, and coral colorway. We just love the happiness that exudes from this collection, and thought it would be a perfect fit for Hang Time. We chose a gradation of color, which looks stunning within the intricate design.
